Earlier this evening, after my son went to bed, I was sitting here at the computer watching YouTube videos and in my own little world. My boyfriend Neil was in the bedroom playing a game on his PS3, the dog was laying on the floor beside me, and the cat was in the bedroom with Neil. All was quiet in the house...when all of a sudden, a huge crash was heard coming from the bathroom. I got up to check it out, and there on our bathroom floor was our mirror from the wall... obviously broken, and unfixable.
The weird part of this? My perfume bottles that were in front of the mirror were left untouched. All we could do was stand there in awe, trying to analyze how the thing fell without disturbing my perfume bottles. After some of the shock wore off, Neil cleaned it up and took the broken pieces out to the garbage. We are still trying to figure out what had happened, and why it had even fallen to begin with (it was pretty solid on the wall).
Do we dare sleep with the lights on tonight? LOL...or break out our EVP equipment and let it run all night? (assuming we had EVP equipment). Ahhh...the mysteries of the unkown in a new home.
Am I scared? Nah, not at all. There is an answer to even the most seemingly difficult questions.

First Post Intro.
So, this may be a very boring first post, however I am a little new to this. I was 'urged' to start blogging at the end of the day during my "Down-Time" in order to collect my thoughts, clear my mind and relax my soul before bedtime. The only problem...it's way past my bedtime already.
This week started off...should I say...stormy? We had a thunder and lightening storm, complete with hard hail...topped off with two hours of power outages. In a new home, this can be and was, quite creepy. But we made it through, the food didn't go bad in the fridge, nothing came close to defrosting in the freezer **knock on wood** and our home remained warmer than expected.
My seven year old son didn't understand the loss of power however. Instead, he tried to "reason" with us, letting us know that all we had to do was flip a switch on the PS2, and plug the T.V back in. When we explained to him that the Power Company had to flip the switch to the power, he responded by reminding us that, "the Power Company doesn't own this place...WE do!" After discussing this topic with us, for what seemed like an eternity, he finally decided to wrap up in his favorite blanket, and go to sleep for the night.
Neil and I on the other hand, enjoyed soft laughter and reminiscing by candlelight. When we first got together 2 1/2 years ago, that was our favorite retreat. Sometimes, we'd stay up all night and talk while the scented candles burned, leaving a beautiful glow and a sweet smell around the living room.
Our new shelter rescue dog only took a week to get used to his new surroundings. He finally found his "voice" three days ago, when, out of sheer instinct, he responded loudly at a light rapping on our front door. Even HE looked surprised that he could make such a noise....thus, doing it ever since. No, it hasn't gotten out of hand, as he knows the command to quiet down, and does so without hesitation.
The more I sit at the computer, surrounded by unpacked boxes in our office area, the more sleepy I get. It's a gentle hint to hang it up for the night, and begin all over tomorrow. Soon, our office will be completely organized thus lifting off another ton of bricks from our shoulers, LOL.
Goodnight all, and sleep tight!
